It then took 24 not out from Milton Trumpet to see Hillview to 118 for 6 from 16.3 overs.

Earlier on that day, South Leeward Strikers had recorded their first victory, beating Buccament by 17 runs. South Leeward rushed to 131 all out in 19.2 overs; Fitzmore Peters made 34. Lendon Neil took 4 for 15 for Buccament, whose batting then fell apart, to finish 118 for 8 from their 20 overs.

Before Sunday’s action, there was a lone encounter on Saturday, which resulted in TCCU Suprizers whipping Glen United by nine wickets.

Glen United, which reports say fielded a depleted team, decided to bat first and were blasted for 39 in 13.2 overs.

Bowling for Suprizers, Garvin Davis had 3 for 2 and Handel Browne 3 for 5.

Suprizers reached 40 for 1 in 7.1 overs, with Calvert Cordice, 23 not out.

This weekend will see the completion of the first round and the commencement of the quarter-finals.
