SVG RUGBY inter-School fun day a success

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Rugby Union hosted an inter-school fun day on Tuesday, December 9, for the primary school children involved in their ‘Get into Rugby Programme’.{{more}}

Members of the Union staff, players, YES workers, members of school staff and Sports Department employees took to the Grammar School playing field to accompany 65 children from the 3 schools: St Mary’s Roman Catholic, Barrouallie Government and CW Prescod. Unfortunately not all schools were able to attend due to exams. It was a fun day for all involved and children who took part are learning important life skills as well as the basic skills of tag rugby.

This event will take place at the end of each term and as the schools improve in their knowledge and skills in tag rugby, it will turn into an ‘inter-school tag rugby competition’ between participating schools who will compete for a trophy.

The Union would like to thank all those who helped make the day a success especially; The SVG Olympic Committee, National Sports Council, the Sports Department, the Ministry of Education, the Red Cross and sponsors; C K Greaves, Allan Smith Bakery, Coreas, Premium products and Phillips Bakery.
