Novice earned $1,500 and the champion’s trophy, when they recorded an 80-run victory over Dr Thomas Injectors in the final at the Richland Park Oval Sunday afternoon.

Hunte blasted 51, in which he rained seven sixes, as Novice, who were in early problems at 35 for 4, eventually got to 136 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Elton Williams supported 23 as Quesmel Cottoy took 3 for 16 from his maximum four overs.

Dr Thomas Injectors, however, found the bowling of MVP of the final Deron Dallaway, with 3 for 4, too hot to handle, as they succumbed for 56 in 19.5 overs.

Trevor Bute played the supporting role, taking 3 for 10. Injectors collected $1,000, as a losing finalist.

In the third place play-off, Young Strikers easily beat Better Brands Supreme by seven wickets, earning themselves $700.

Batting first, Better Brands Supreme was dismissed for 69 in 19.2 overs, with Zimroy Baptiste taking 3 for 17. Young Strikers, behind an even unbeaten half century from Osneth Cato, then reached 72 for 3 in 10.1 overs.

Better Brands Supreme pocketed $400.

In awards for the tournament, Roderick John of RSVG Police took awards for most runs and most sixes; Daverson Lavia took most wickets and was MVP of the tournament.

Dr Thomas Injectors bucketed the awards for the Most Disciplined Team and for the Most Improved Team. Nineteen teams took part in the third edition of the competition.
