Novice reach TBPO Softball Cricket semis again

Defending champion of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation T/20 Softball Cricket Competition CGM Novice has advanced to the semi-finals.{{more}}

They did so last Sunday at the Dauphine Playing Field, with a 43-run defeat of Bank of SVG All Stars in the first quarter-final.

Hyron Shallow lashed 82 and Renrick Williams 24, to see Novice to 156 for 6 from their 20 overs. In reply, Bank of SVG All Stars could only muster 113 for 5 from their allotted 20 overs; Newborne Joseph made 22 and Rolando Wright 21.

Roderick John took 2 for 20, bowling for Novice. Also on Sunday, Gairy Construction Simple Boys beat Out Ah Trouble by 58 runs. Simple Boys batted first and made 161 all out in 18.2 overs; Stein Joseph had 45. Bowling for Out Ah Trouble, Starkey Peters took 3 for 18, Asborne Dasent 3 for 31 and Nico Ottley 2 for 27.

In reply, Out Ah Trouble reached 103 for 8 from their overs. Sunil Ambris struck 19. Travis Cumberbatch – 2 for 7; Kenny Hunte – 2 for 13; Stein Joseph – 2 for 21 and Desron Maloney – 2 for 27 shared the wickets that fell.

But on Saturday, Out Ah Trouble gained easy wins, as both ASCO and Glen United defaulted. Out Ah Trouble moved into the quarter-finals where they will meet Gomea Bombers on Saturday from 3 p.m. Before that, at 1 p.m., Simple Boys and Georgie Valley Saints clash.

The other quarter-final match is slated for Sunday from 12 noon, when EZ Woods Topers face Nar Fren Dem. (RT)
