Ravers go under again in Biabou Softball Competition

Ravers are finding it tough in their defence of the Biabou Softball Cricket Competition, as they suffered another defeat, this time going under to Panthers, last Sunday.{{more}}

Ravers were dismissed for 60 off 15.3 overs, undone by the bowling of Sheldon Sam – 3 for 8, Devante Davy – 2 for 18 and Reberto Jackson – 2 for 22.

In response, Panthers reached 63 for 4 from 15.3 overs to win by six wickets.

Phillip Alvis had 2 for 6 and Allian Gonsalves – 2 for 23, but in a losing cause, bowling for Ravers.

Also on Sunday, Dr Thomas Injectors recorded back-to-back wins over Lauders Hard Target and Clinchers.

Stephen Straker top scored with 39, as Dr Thomas Injectors made 118 all out in 17.3 overs.

Bowling for Hard Target, Rondell Peters picked up 3 for 21, Glendon James 3 for 27 and Handel Antoine 2 for 17.

Hard Target was bowled out for 95; Levann Pope hit 28 and Tyson Richards 24.

Bowling for Injectors, Damien Allen snared 3 for 14 and Keno Matthews, 2 for 21.

Injectors then overtook Clinchers by five wickets.

Clinchers made 75, with Rohan Joyles 19 not out. Injectors’ bowling was led by Stephen Starker who grabbed 3 for 16 and Augustine Corridon, 2 for 8.

Injectors erased the total, reaching 76 for 5 from 12.2 overs. Damien Allen struck 30.

Desron Spring was Clinchers’ most successful bowler with 3 for 16.

The other match contested saw Gairy Construction Simple Boys dismantling Smashers by 135 runs Saturday.

Simple Boys rattled up 206 for 9 from 19 overs. There were good contributions from Rickford Walker – 39, Elric Morris – 37, Eldon Morris – 32, Stein Joseph – 30 and Kelshan Da Silva – 24.

Kerbert Spring had 4 for 28 and Ozico Williams – 3 for 29, bowling for Smashers, who were dismissed for 71 from 12.3 overs.

Ozico Williams with 39 was the lone bright spark for Smashers, as Vernardo Primus – 3 for 16, Desron Maloney – 2 for 18 and Kenny Harry – 2 for 36, bowled their team to a comfortable victory.(RT)
