Novice positions in TBPO Softball Cricket Competition

CGM Novice, the 2012 champions of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball Cricket Competition, are repositioning themselves in the 2013 edition, after suffering a defeat in their opening fixture.{{more}}

Last Saturday, Novice enhanced their chances with a 38-run dismantling of Out Ah Trouble in one of two matches played that day at the Dauphine Playing Field.

Novice batted first and made 147 for 8 off their allotted 20 overs; Richie Richards 67 and Elton Williams 28. Bowling for Out Ah Trouble, Nico Ottley 2 for 11, Starkey Peters 2 for 33 and Sunil James 2 for 42.

In reply, Out Ah Trouble reached 109 all out in their 20 overs; Ozni Billingy contributed 36.

Trevor Bute 3 for 12; Roderick John 2 for 10 and Kimani Thomas 2 for 14, shared the wickets for Novice. Before them, General Hardware Supplies Richmond Hill won over ASCO by eight wickets. ASCO was shot out for 43 all out in 8.2 overs. Deron Greaves scored 28.

Bowling for Richmond Hill, Rohan Ash had 2 for 2. Zenroy Lee then plastered 35 not out, to rush Richmond Hill to 49 for 2 in just six overs.

On Sunday, there were wins for EZ Woods Toppers, Dr Thomas Injectors and Georgie Valley Saints. Toppers overcame Glen United by 12 runs.

Batting first, Toppers reached 103 for 7 from their maximum 20 overs. Keon Brereton 25, Vernardo Primus and Raffique Harry both hit 20

Bowling for Glen, Ron Adams had figures of 3 for 22. But Glen’s reply fell short by 12 runs, as they were all out for 91 in 19.1 overs, as Kemuel Hackshaw 4 for 10, Marcus Hackshaw 3 for 7 and Venardo Primus 2 for 15, bowled theirteam to victory.

Dr Thomas Injectors got the better of Gairy Construction Simple Boys by 13 runs. Injectors, 106 for 9 from their 20 overs. Ronnick was the top scorer with 30. Travis Cumberbatch 3 for 25; Kenny Hunte 2 for 15 and Stein Joseph 2 for 20, shared the bulk of the wickets for Simple Boys, who were dismissed for 93.

Simple Boys were undone by the bowling of Augustine Corridon 3 for 19; Kelvin Lorraine 3 for 20 and Damien Allen 2 for 18.

Georgie Valley Saints won from Mac Lil Saints by default.(RT)
