Hoytes seal Owia Tapeball Cricket title

Hoytes sealed and signed the 2013 Carib Beer Owia T-20 Tapeball Cricket Competition last Sunday afternoon at the London Playing Field.{{more}}

They had their consignment hand delivered to them by Papa Grand, whom they defeated by two wickets. Papa Grand made 101 all out; Othniel Baptiste top scored with 31.

Shane Roberts took 3 for 13; Marlon Baptiste 2 for 10 and Omar Lavia 2 for 16.

Hoytes replied with 102 for 8. Omar Lavia 26. Mohammed Lavia grabbed for 10 and Drumo Toney 2 for 17. Pent House took the third place as South Rivers was a no show.

In the competition’s awards, the Most Runs award was taken by Desron Lavia of West Side, who totalled 188 runs.

There was a tie for the most wickets between Wendell Jordan of Overland and Dwayne Nanton of Pent House who both took 18 scalps.

St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards Under-15 player Shane Roberts with 125 runs and 15 wickets was named the competition’s MVP.(RT)
