Kingstown marching on in masters’ cricket

LOG Enterprises Kingstown had another win last weekend as the 2013 SVG Masters T-20 Cricket Competition saw another set of matches decided.{{more}}

With access to facilities at a premium, action in the competition was restricted to Sunday only.

Playing at the Buccament Bay Playing Field, Kingstown reached 154 for 7 from their 20 overs; Joseph Carrington and Hollis John both hit 26 and Winsbert Springer, 25.

Noel Samuel took 2 for 9 and Bertram Stapleton 30.

Ruddy’s Electrical Barrouallie was stifled for 86 for 7 from their 20 overs. Cornelius Springer was Kingstown’s lead bowler with 2 for 17, to see his team trump by 68 runs.

At Park Hill, St Vincent Co-operative Bank P’tani defeated Computec Belfongo by 34 runs.

P’tani compiled 127 all out in 19.5 overs; Isaac Haywood hit 40 and Westmore Campbell 23.

Bowling for Belfongo, Rohan King had 2 for 22 and Sylvannus Morgan 2 for 29.

Belfongo’s response halted at 93 all out; Aubrey Burgin was the lead batsman with 22, as Michael Jack had figures of 4 for 21, Isaac Haywood 2 for 24 and Elvis Woods 2 for 31.

At Arnos Vale One, Stanley Browne’s Stubbs overcame Kirk Da Silva La Croix by three wickets.

Emondo Shoy struck 27, as La Croix posted 113 for 7 from their 20 overs.

Leon Samuel took 2 for 27 for Stubbs, who then reached 116 for 7 in 17 overs; Leon Samuel had 27.

Wendell Parris was the most successful bowler for La Croix with 2 for 14.

The other scheduled match resulted in an easy win for North Leeward at the Petit Bordel Playing Field, as their opponents, Joyette’s Auto Slater Development Pastures, failed to show up.(RT)
