Atticus Browne finds purple patch at Park Hill
St Vincent and the Grenadines batsman Atticus Browne etched his name in the record books of the newly commissioned Park Hill Playing Field, when he hit the first century at the venue last Saturday.{{more}}
The Victors One lefthanded batsman struck 110, to set up his teamâs total of 321 for 9 from their 40 overs, against Police One in the third place play-off of the inaugural Super-40 competition, put on by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association.
Browne punched in 10 fours and 2 sixes in his ton. He was supported by Keron Cottoy who crashed 70, made up of 4 fours and 3 sixes; Alston Bobb hit 41 and Dexter Small, a quick-fire 33.
Bobbâs innings included 2 fours and a pair of sixes, while Small smothered the same set of boundaries.
Parnell Browne snared 3 for 61, amidst the batting carnage.
Police One, in response, was dismissed for 158 in 25 overs; Salvan Browne cracked 4 fours in his 42, while Vertil Davis pounded 2 fours and 2 sixes in his 31.
Adding to Police Oneâs total were 29 extras.
Keron Cottoy took 3 for 16; Dellorn Johnson, 2 for 25, and Alston Bobb, 2 for 50, as Victors One romped to a commanding 163-run triumph and the third place spoils.(RT)
