Century from Ambris not enough to secure Saints’ victory

A knock of 107 not out from Sunil Ambris propelled Guardian General Saints to first innings points in a drawn game in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Cricket Division last weekend.{{more}}

The competition, which had taken a break for the Windward Islands Under-15 competition, resumed last weekend at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field.

Victors Two batted first and were dismissed for 171 all out. Denis Byam scored 61 and Shaquille Browne, 44. Romario Bibby, after an opening burst in which he picked up three wickets in two overs, finished with 5 for 35.

Saints responded with 260 for 3. Other than Ambris’ ton, Omar Lorraine hit 65 and Rickford Walker, 54.

At Arnos Vale 2, Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO also won on first innings from the News Spartans.

ASCO made 208 all out. Desron Maloney stroked 46. Dawnley Grant picked up 4 for 43.

Spartans were bowled out for 203. Dawnley Joseph top scored with 36. ASCO, in their second innings, were 106 for 4 when the match was called off. Darren Greaves struck 40 for ASCO.(RT)
