Shot Gun, South Rivers, Injectors head to Biabou softball semi-finals

Shot Gun XI, South Rivers Wings and Dr Thomas Injectors are through to the semi-finals of the Biabou T-20 Softball cricket competition.{{more}}

The trio reached the last four with wins last weekend at the Biabou Playing Field.

Shot Gun XI eliminated Bank of SVG All Stars by 11runs on Saturday.

Shot Gun XI were dismissed for 82.

Keon Boyea hit 20.

Bank of SVG All Stars’ bowling was led by Andre Little, who snared 4 for 12, and Newbornne Joseph — 3 for 19.

But their batting did not come up to trumps, as they could only reach 71 for 6 from their 20 overs.

Starving Bank of SVG All Stars’ batting were Sonic Pompey who had 3 for 7 and Lenroy Dansel 2 for 12.

On Sunday, South Rivers Wings disposed of Young Strikers by 28 runs.

Asif Hooper — 22, Romano Grant and Deighton Butler, both struck 20, as South Rivers notched up 121 all out from 20 overs. Davidson Lavia — 3 for 14 — and Ramon Young — 3 for 22 — captured the bulk of the wickets for Young Strikers.

In reply, Young Strikers were restricted to 93 for 6 from their maximum 20 overs. Shane Henry was the top scorer with 22. Asif Hooper took 2 for 9, bowling for South Rivers.

And, Dr Thomas Injectors calmed Gairy’s Construction Simple Boys by 36 runs.

Sunil Ambris knocked 31 in Injectors’ total of 135. Norlan Williams — with 3 for 39 — was Simple Boys’ leading wicket-taker.

Simple Boys’ reply stopped at 99 all out. Renrick Williams made 26 to be his team’s top scorer.

Emil Small — 2 for 13, Kelvin Lorraine — 2 for 27 and Ronnick Daniel 2 for 30, shared the wickets for Injectors.

The last quarter-final is set for this Saturday afternoon, featuring defending champions Pine Hill Dairy Clinchers and Ravers.

The semi-finals are set for Sunday. (RT)
