Defending champions of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball Cricket Competition RSVG Police redeemed themselves last Saturday at the Dauphine Playing Field, as they beat ASCO by 46 runs.{{more}}

Police were coming off a loss inflicted on them the previous Sunday by Dr Thomas Injectors.

But this time around, the lawmen fared better, making 138 for 7 from 15 overs, batting first.

Renrick Cato hit a topscore of 45. Bowling for ASCO Jevon Nero took 2 for 24.

In reply, ASCO was dismissed for 92. Deron Bute struck 22, as Kenroy Martin grabbed 2 for 24.

Also on Saturday, Nar Fren Dem upstaged Clinchers by 21 runs.

Nar Fren Dem chalked up 116 for 5 from their 15 overs. Mark Durrant scored 41, Zimron Humphrey 32 not out and Keno Matthews contributed 24.

Bowling for Clinchers, Nicholas Ottley picked up 2 for 27.

In response, Clinchers’ innings stopped at 95 for 9, with Okeiph Andrews posting 61, but which was not enough to see his side over the line.

Clinchers were wrecked by Kenford Collins who took 4 for 13 and Glenford Woodley who had 2 for 22.

On Sunday, Glen United eeked out a three-run triumph over Valley Boys.

Ron Andrews hit 34 and Elvis Woods 24, in Glen’s innings of 130 all out, off 20 overs.

Bowling for Valley Boys, Keithland Cudjoe bagged 5 for 17.

Valley Boys then inched their way to 127 all out in reply.

Keithland Cudjoe was again Valley Boys’ go to man, as he struck 28 not out. Winston Bascombe hit 26 and Romano Mc Millan 20.

Marcus Hackshaw, 2 for 27, and Wayne Garraway, 2 for 29, were Glen United’s most successful bowlers.

In Sunday’s second match, Georgie Valley got past Bangers by 20 runs.

Georgie Valley batted first and made 97 all out in 15.3 overs. Raymond Sayers, 3 for 25, Raffique Sayers, 3 for 30, and Ken Tesheira, 2 for 9, helped restrict Georgie Valley’s batting.

But their bowling efforts were not matches, as Georgie Valley bowlers, led by Zane Greaves, 4 for 27, Emmerson Quashie, 3 for 4, and Kareem Cumberbatch, 2 for 18, conjured to dismiss Bangers for 77 in 12. 2 overs.

And, in the feature match, Gairy Construction Simple Boys defeated Mac Little Saints by two wickets.

Little Saints scored 87 all out in 19. 4 overs. Jason Jackson top scored with 21. Travis Cumberbatch snared 4 for 22 and Stein Joseph, 2 for 12, bowling for Simple Boys.

At their turn at the crease, Simple Boys reached 90 for 8 in 13. 2 overs.

Travis Cumberbatch scored 26 not out.

Little Saints’ bowling was led by Colson Davis who grabbed 4 for 23 and Mikeal Toussaint 2 for 22.

Five matches are carded for this weekend. (RT)
