Last Saturday’s opening saw fifteen teams taking part in the march past, with Mountain Top Springs winning the best dressed team award. The teams then took to the field to play the Soccerama competition, with ECGC defeating LIME in the finals.

President of the LIME Sports Club Troy Jack complimented the club for organizing the competition, which he hopes will serve to forge a better relationship among the firms taking part in the competition.

“Games will be played on Fridays and Saturdays, under the lights and the general public is invited to look at the games free. Drinks and food will be on sale and proceeds will be used by the Sports Club to support community activities. Last Saturday’s funds collected for sale of drinks and food were used to support our colleague Ruffin Soleyn with his medical bills,” said Jack.

The competition started in 2010 and is expected to take place annually. The teams will be divided into four zones, from which the two top teams will compete in the quarter-finals. The winning team will receive fifteen handsets and $500 credit to be shared by team members.

The player scoring the most goals will receive a Blackberry 9100 and Free Data.
