Facilitators pleased with local Football interest

Facilitators of the Club Management Workshop, Canadian Chris Collie and Jamaican Howard Mc Intosh have expressed their satisfaction with the attendance, participation and enthusiasm shown by the local Football administrators.{{more}}

The five-day workshop began last Monday and continued at the Media Centre at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

“The turn out shows that Vincentians are interested in the sport”, Mc Intosh said to SEARCHLIGHT last Tuesday afternoon at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

“Strong clubs mean strong Football, and that is what we are working towards,” Mc Intosh added.

Mc Intosh, who is on his first assignment, since being appointed as a Development Officer for the CONCACAF region, said that the Club Management workshop here forms part of the Win in CONCACAF, “Win with CONCACAF” programme.

Mc Intosh stated that his job appointment is to help to promote and develop the game in the region, and his stint here is the start of that journey.

With participation of about forty persons, drawn from the various Football units in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Collie said that the discussions during the workshop thus far have been rich, exemplifying the enthusiasm for the sport here.

The workshop, which concludes today, Friday is a collaboration between FIFA and the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation.

Some of the topics covered were Finance and Planning, Human Resource Management, Marketing, club licensing and regulations, among others.

Apart from the literature, the participants have received gear and other tokens. (RT)
