Footballer Emerald George shows up at cricket match
National footballer Emerald âMonkeyâ George has re- emerged.{{more}}
George was present in the Guinness Posse Party Stand last Tuesday at the Arnos Vale Playing Field during the third One Day International Cricket match between the West Indies and Australia.
George left here on November 8 last year with the senior St. Vincent and the Grenadines menâs football team, which was en route to Belize for its CONCACAF Group E World Cup Qualifiers, but went missing when the team was intransit in Miami, Florida.
George did not show up for breakfast with his teammates the next morning at the La Quinta Hotel in Miami, after arriving there the previous night.
George, a midfielder, had checked in the previous night with the entire team, but left the hotel without informing the teamâs management, and without the knowledge of his roommates.
It was believed then that George had defected.
