Showdown at Mt Williams Byrea

It was an epic showdown at Mt William, Byrea, last Sunday, July 17, 2011, as the St Vincent and the Grenadines Automobile Association (SVGAA) and The Street Tuners Auto Club (STAC) hosted another Hill Sprint event,{{more}} showcasing 15 of this country’s fastest street cars.

The action got started from around midday, with racers doing battle against one another for the fastest time in the time attack event.

The course proved to be very challenging as it tested the driver’s skills at high speeds. The fifteen drivers drove to the best of their ability, bettering their track times as each round progressed.

Drivers were placed into two categories, the 4WD and 2WD.

At the end of the day, only a few would be good enough to make their way to the podium, although the track times were very close.

In the 4WD category- 1st place went to Keith Francis in his Mitsubishi Lancer, with a time of 51.45sec, 2nd place went to Jason Moussa in his Nissan Pulsar, with a time of 51.56sec, and 3rd place went to Ezra Robertson in his Mazda Familia, with a time of 54.30 sec.

In the 2WD category- 1st place went to Shaundy St.Hillaire in his Honda Civic, with a time of 53.67sec, 2nd place went to Frankie King in his Honda CRX, with a time of 53.72sec, and 3rd place went to Sunel John in his Honda Civic, with a time of 56.19sec. Other Drivers who raced: Lenox Jack, Alonzo Paris, Naji Moussa, Collin Sardine, Damian Alexander, Kevin Dalzine, Reid Ollivierre, Charlie Thomas and Perry Defreitas.

This event could not have been possible without the help of many determined competitors, along with the usual excited spectators.
