SVGBF announces training squads

The selection committee of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation has announced its male and female training squads for upcoming sub-regional and regional engagements.{{more}}

The male training squads include Iva Arthur, Kenroy Baptiste, Deran Williams, Lezlo Mc Kenzie, Kendal Pinder, Mauricio Woods, Shammon Peters, Dale Shepherd, Leon Jackson, Ishama Mc Kree, Glen Smith, Randolph Williams, Lemmon Miller, Philmon Taylor, Steveon Taylor, Orlando Fergusson, Michael Penniston, Kendal Cumberbatch, Damon Haywood, Otis Hector and Julius Kier.

The male outfit will be defending the Windward Islands Championship, which is set for Dominica from July 12 to 17, and the wider Caribbean Basketball Championship, slated for the Bahamas from July 25 to August 5.

The females include Vasha Adams, Nicole Sandy – Stephenson, Saska Diamond, Anella Samuel, Elizabeth Matthews, Sheldeen Joseph, Gailene Gordon, Kailene Thompson, Avianne Myers, Suzette Jackson , Iasha Sam, Tamara Samuel, Rochelle Haynes, Timesha Toussaint, Shanna Browne, Azola Francis, Roseman Parris, Shantel Joseph, Chantelle John, Maurel Cupid, Kia Prince, Jamilia Cottle, Clea Hoyte, Bownie Allicott, Corsia Williams-Nero, and Fanella Quashie.

The females, like the males, are preparing for the Caribbean Basketball Championship in the Bahamas.

The Executive of the SVGBF is leaving the window of opportunity for overseas-based players to be a part of the set-up.

Last year, overseas-based male players played vital roles in St. Vincent and the Grenadines retaining the Windwards title.

The coaching staff, announced thus far, includes Junior Sutton, Wayne Williams, Darwin Vanloo, and Oral Roberts.

Karel Bramble has been named as the Manager of the male outfit and Kenlyn Clouden will perform similar duties among the females.
