Mixed Fortunes for Glen United

In the lone female encounter played on the weekend, BMC Glen United trashed Shandy Carib Clinchers by 10 wickets.{{more}}

Batting first, Shandy Carib Clinchers were bundled out for 18 in 7.2 overs. Natasha John, Marcia Matthews and Bevette Myers all bagged 2 wickets each. BMC Glen then eased to 19 without loss in 3 overs.

Also on Saturday, Sea Operation Nar Fren Dem squeezed out Crystal Clean Next Level by 5 runs. Taking first strike, Sea Operation Nar Fren Dem posted 141 for 7 from the allotted 20 overs. Extras contributed a healthy 55 of that total. Other noted contributers were Zimron Humphrey, 24, and Jamal John, 20. Bowling for Crystal Clean Next Level, Deptor Culzac captured 2 for 15 and Courtney Joyette, 2 for 41.

Chasing 142 to win, Crystal Clean Next Level were dismissed for 138 in 19.2 overs. Kesworth Lewis piloted his team’s reply with 60. There were 36 extras. Dave Baptiste returned figures of 3 for 25, Damron Prince, 2 for 46, and Kenford Collins, 2 for 15.

In a rain-hit Sunday morning, RSVG Police continued their winning ways when they arrested Dr. Thomas injectors by 22 runs in a 15-overs match up.

Batting first, RSVG Police chalked up 124 in 14.5 overs. Saleam George led the batting with 33, with good support coming from Maxian Richardson who got 20. Augustine Carridon bagged 3 for 14.

Dr. Thomas Injectors responded with 97 all out in 15 overs. Damean Allen top-scored with 24, and Tex Franklyn, 20. Renford Jack captured 3 for 14, and Gerald Gould, 2 for 3. Also on Sunday, ASCO INC. humbled Digicel Stallions with a five-wicket whipping.

Batting first, Digicel Stallions posted 104/9 off 15 overs. Shem Laborde slammed 42, while Asroy Baptiste and Junan Baptiste each contributed 23. Vennardo Primus took 2 for 7 and Rajiv Roberts, 2 for 18. ASCO INC. replied with 106 for 5 in 14.3 overs. Nicholus Holder piloted ASCO’s INC.’s run chase with 38. Clifford Williams provided good support with 23. Shorne Williams took 2 for 13.

In the weekend’s featured showdown, CGM Novice displayed strong resilience to pull off a spectacular seven-wicket win over Glen United. Winning the toss and batting Glen United reached 108 for 9 from 20 overs. Michael Duncan got 23, and Trevor Bute bagged 4 for 27. Chasing 109 for victory, CGM Novice found themselves stuttering at 18 for 2 after 10 overs, but with the fall of the third wicket, captain Elton Williams walked to crease and blasted an unbeaten 35 to propel his team to a commanding seven-wicket win with eight balls to spare, reaching 112 for 3 in 18.4 overs. Deane Farrell, after a slow start, stepped up his bating to be left unbeaten on 46.

Five more matches are carded for next weekend.
