Simple Boys make it three straight

Defending male champions of the Ashburton Sports and Cultural Orgainsation (ASCO) T/20 Softball Cricket Competition, Simple Boys, made it three consecutive wins in this year’s edition last Saturday at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}

Simple Boys recorded a 33 run win over La Croix Touch of Pearls.

Simple Boys were dismissed for 118 in 13.5 overs. Stein Joseph led the way with 40 and Desron Maloney, 21. Fixon Lewis captured 3 for 20, Shearman Bailey, 3 for 36, Kevin Pompey, 2 for 27, and Amreal Bobb, 2 for 23.

In reply, La Croix Touch reached 85 for 7 when the overs ran out. Casmond Walters bagged 3 for 10, and Sheldon Nanton, 2 for 27.

Also on Saturday, RSVG Police beat Mc East Bank by 19 runs. Batting first, the officers posted 109 for 6 in a reduced 15 over encounter because of a late start. Trevor Bailey stroked 34 not out, and Gosnel Cupid got 26. Kevern Clarke captured 2 for 29.

Chasing 110 to win, Mc East Bank was dismissed for 90 in 14.4 overs. Kezron Ashton topped the batting with 28. Malcolm Alexander, Demris Daniel and Renford Jack all captured three wickets each.

On Sunday, Mc Sprat I Strikers stopped S.G. De Freitas Beat D Heat by seven wickets to pick up their first win. Beat D Heat fell for 76. Nicholas Audain took 3 for 8, and Itlan Audain, 2 for 17. In reply, Mc Sprat I Strikers reached their target of 68 in 8.4 overs, losing three wickets in the process. Itlan Audain cracked 27.

Also, Bank of SVG All Stars recorded an eight run win over Karibbean Tires Street Vybes. Bank of SVG All Stars was dismissed for 82. Kenny Stapleton slammed 48. Renrick Sayers took 5 for 26. Street Vybes were restricted to 75 for 7 from their 15 overs. Kenny Stapleton, Newborne Joseph and Glenroy Dasent guided their team to victory, as all capturing three wickets each.

And, in the weekend’s lone female encounter, ASCO Dynamics triumphed over Shandy Carib Clinchers by a narrow 10 run margin. ASCO Dynamics made 79 in 13.1 overs. Dalia Diamond had figures of 3 for 16, and Maxine James, 2 for 8. In response, Shandy Carib Clinchers managed 69 in 15 overs. Clea Hoyte led her team’s batting with 26. Rosie Gibson picked up 2 for 17, and Mischa George, 2 for 10. (RT)
