Lowmans Leeward Anglican pouches Primary Schools’ Netball Title

The Lowmans Leeward Anglican School last Tuesday pouched the 2011 Inter Primary Schools’ Netball title with a 21-16 triumph over the Langley Park Government at the Kingstown Netball Centre.{{more}}

Lowmans led all the way, 7-2, 14-5, 16-10 and finally 21-6.

For Lowmans, Goal Attack Itesha Matthews scored 19 golas and Annisha Williams, the Goal Shooter, scored 2.

For the runners up, Sigourne Peters, the Goal Shooter netted 9, and Goal Attack, Latoya Medica, accounted for the other 7.

In the semis, Lowmans Leeward got past Georgetown 6-3 and Langley Park beat Spring Village 10-8.

However, the planned third place play off between the Spring Village Methodist and the Georgetown Government saw the latter winning by default, as their intended opponents did not show up.

But it was Yannesha Scipio of the Lowmans Leeward Anglican who emerged Most Valuable Player of the final.

Scipio also gained Zone B’s MVP.

The other zonal MVP’s went to Kemelia Grant of the Spring Village Methodist in Zone A, with Zone C’s MVP being Mafica Mc Donald of the Cane End Government. Taking Zone D’s MVP was Janisha May of the Langley Park Government.

In other awards given out at last Tuesday’s closing ceremony, Sigourne Peters of the second place school, Langley Park Government, with 29 goals in total, copped the Most Goals trophy.

The Zonal winners were also rewarded with Zone A taken by Spring Village Methodist, Zone B, the Lowmans Leeward Anglican, Zone C, the Cane End Government and Zone D, the Langley Park Government.
