Digicel sponsors SVGNA 2011 Tournament

For the fourth consecutive year, Digicel has sponsored the annual St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association (SVGNA) tournament.{{more}}

Last Friday, President of the SVGNA Godfrey Harry and Trustee Doris McIntosh collected sponsorship monies from Marketing Manager at Digicel Juno DeRoche.

McIntosh thanked Digicel for their continued support, while Harry said that as usual, the money will go a long way in helping make the tournament a success. The money according to Harry will be used for, among other things, prizes and umpire t-Shirts

Handing over the money, DeRoche said that the sponsorship is Digicel’s way of giving back to sports, as “Sports and Culture play an important role in not only the development of the youths but the development of the entire nation”. She added that Digicel knows that Netball is very close to Vincentians, while the sport also gives young ladies and women something positive to do.

DeRoche also appealed to persons “to come out and support the game”.

The tournament begins Sunday, March 6, and ends in June.
