Police go one up

The 2010 League champions of the SVG Masters Cricket Competition, RSVG Police, went one up in the inaugural Knock Out Competition, which got going last weekend.{{more}}

But they did it the easy way, as their intended opponents North Leeward made a no show.

Also advancing to the next round of competition, via the default route, was Rudy’s Electrical Barrouallie over Buccament.

In real action, Ajuba defeated SVG Cooperative Bank P’tani by eight wickets.

P’ tani batted first and made 106 all out in 16.3 overs. Selwyn Caine topscored with 32 and Adolph Campbell contributed 22. Bowling for Ajuba, Federal Jeffrey snapped up 3 for 6 and Leon Samuel 3 for 36.

In response, Ajuba raced to 107 for 2 off 11.4 overs. Reginald Jeffrey struck 66 not out.

Also advancing was C.K.Greaves Vintage Arnos Vale, who defeated Joyette’s Auto/Slater Development Pastures by three wickets.

Pastures took first strike and made 97 all out. Jomo Thomas led Pastures’ batting with 20, as McNeil Morgan picked up 3 for 10.

Arnos Vale erased the target, reaching 99 for 7. Ted Roberts scored 22; Mc Neil Morgan 18 and Elson Crick 17.

Frederick Trimmingham was Pastures’ lead bowler with 3 for 28.

And, Computec Belfongo whipped London by six wickets.

Taking first strike was London, who was dismissed for 97. Benson John hit 23 and Jeffrey Lavia 22.

Wendell Glasgow took 3 for 15, bowling for Belfongo.

Junior Bacchus led his team’s run chase with 32 and Wendell Glasgow, 26, to push Belfongo to 100 for 4. (RT)
