SVG to host Windwards 20/20 competition

The Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control, the WICBC, this week announced that St. Vincent and the Grenadines will host the first ever Windward Islands 20/20 competition, in July.{{more}}

The WICBC has also said that the Windward Islands Lotteries Inc (WINLOTT) will be the official sponsor for the event.

The tournament will be called the WINLOTT Wind-ward Islands 20/20, and will begin with a preliminary round on July 9 and 10, with the finals to be played on July 11.

All matches will be played at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, and at stake will be a prize purse of EC$20,000.

The member territories of the Windwards, Dominica, St. Lucia, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, will participate in the tournament.

Following the tournament, the selectors will pick a Windwards team that will go into a training camp here, in preparation for the Caribbean 20/20 which commences on July 22.
