Ruddy’s Electrical makes donation to the NWCA
The Neil Williams Cricket Academy (NWCA) received $ 3,000 last Saturday, May 15, from a conscientious corporate citizen, Rudolph Daize, of the firm Ruddyâs Electrical.{{more}}
The contribution will be used for the development of Cricket and young cricketers in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
In making the donation to President of the Academy, Garth Saunders, Daize said his company has been involved in supporting sports and culture for some time and his latest gesture was just another contribution to another organization that he would like to see develop.
He said these small contributions can go a long way and he believes if more business places get involved by making similar contributions towards the development of sports, it will help at the local level and by extension to the regional and also the international level.
Daize stated that his input came at an opportune time given the present state of West Indies Cricket. He said by contributing at the grass root level, he believes it will make the difference in the future of our cricketers, not just here in St Vincent and the Grenadines, but also in the region.
Saunders, in receiving the cheque, said he was extremely grateful for the generosity of Ruddyâs Electrical towards the development of our youth and the future of our nation.
The Academy, he said, will continue to make all our sponsors very proud by ensuring that our coaching mentoring and youth development program continues and at the same time secure the legacy of Neilâs selfless contribution to cricket coaching in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Academy is named in memory of the late Neil Williams, a former Windward Islands, Middlesex and England fast bowler. Williams died March 27, 2006, at the age of 43.
The Academy conducts its coaching programme each Saturday from 9am to 12 at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, and has a team in the Bottlers First Division of the national Cricket Competition. (RT)
