Kingstown Masters draw closer

Unbeaten Log Enterprises Kingstown Masters are moving closer to walking away with the 2009 National Masters Cricket title.{{more}}

Kingstown reached the semifinals after recording a three-wicket win over Sion Hill. Batting first, Sion Hill Masters scored 97 all out in 20 overs. Colbert McDonald topscored with 23 and Dudley David hit 19.

The wily Joseph Medford captured six for 10, including a hat-trick.

Log Enterprises Kingstown Masters replied with 98 for 7 off 17 overs. Former St. Vincent and the Grenadines off spinner Lynton Greaves scored 20 and Winston Springer contributed 19. Gary Rodriguez captured 3 for 13 to be Sion Hill’s best bowler.

Computec Belfongo Masters also advanced to the semi-finals.

Belfongo made 115 for 9 off 20 overs. Junior Bacchus struck 40 not out and Cleve Robertson, 22. Brian Joslyn had bowling figures of 3 for 26, and Cuthbert James, 2 for 8 .

North Leeward in reply made 80 all out, to lose by 35 runs.

Andrew Hall was the topscorer with 23. Wendell Glasgow had 3 for 11, Sylvannus Morgan, 2 for 14, and Curtis King, 2 for 12.

And, joining them was St.Vincent Co-operative Bank P’tani Masters, who defeated Police Masters by 3 wickets

Police Masters was dismissed for 81. Gosnel Cupid led the way with 20. Adolphous Campbell took 3 for 16, and Ray Laborde, also grabbed 3 for 16

P’tani Masters reached 84 for 7.The durable Walford Ambris made 18 and Alfred McKenzie, 17.

The remaining quarter final will see London Masters meeting Ajuba Masters from 10 am on Sunday at the Stubbs Playing Field. The winner will meet Belfongo from 2pm at the same venue.

The other semi final pits Kingstown Masters against P’tani Masters from 10 am at the Buccament Bay Playing Field, also on Sunday.

The two semi finals winners meet the following weekend on a day and venue to be announced. (RT)
