When the Competition got into overdrive last weekend, the four semi finalists emerged.

Through are MVC Rivals, Victors One, Bequia Combined and AOL Boutique Radcliffe.

The unbeaten Rivals, and contenders to the title, made light work of North Leeward, beating them by ten wickets.

North Leeward was bowled out for 70, with Kesrick Williams taking 3 for 8, Casmond Walters, 2 for 6, the overlooked Orlanzo Jackson, 2 for 8 and Deighton Butler, 2 for 12.

Rivals, led by Harley Skerritt’s 33 not out and Teran Harper 29 not out, reached 73 for no wicket.

Likewise, the 2007 and 2008 winners, Victors One, saw off Owia Stars by 76 runs.

Victors One posted 178 for 5. The in-form Donson Andrews made 68. Rawle Baptiste was Owia’s best bowler with 3 for 27. Owia Stars replied with 102. Atticus Browne took 3 for 24, bowling for Victors One.

But the match of the weekend saw Bequia Combined upset Eat Rite Saints by 39 runs. Batting first, Bequia posted 215 for 7 from their 20 overs.

Shirlon Pompey topped Bequia’s batting with 55, Shem Browne scored 46, Salvan Browne hit 24 and Cosmus Hackshaw chipped in with 23, as they took advantage of Saints, who could only field nine players.

Kishore Shallow took 2 for 30, the evergreen Walford Ambris, 2 for 37, and Felix Greaves, 2 for 42.

Saints found the going tough and stopped at 176 for 5. Sunil Ambris struck a masterful innings of 86, as he deposited the ball to all parts of the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field. Ambris dotted with seven fours and four sixes, and Shallow who batted all 20 overs made 58 not out, but that was not enough, as the travelling Bequia posse celebrated with food and drink.

Radcliffe disposed of The News Spartans by seven wickets.

Spartans made 138 for 7 off their 20, as they batted first .Uzzah Pope hit 42, Kissinger Mc Lean, 26. Kenroy Martin, 3 for 8, Dyke Cato, 2 for 30 and Drumo Toney, 2 for 35, shared the wickets for Radcliffe.

Radcliffe was led by Linden James who made 45 not out, Wayne Harper, 42, and Martin, 35 not out, reached 142 for 3. (RT)
