Glen United takes CADO Softball Cricket Title

Glen United was crowned champion last Sunday afternoon at the Calliaqua Playing Field, in the Dr. Linton Lewis Calliaqua Area Development Organisation (CADO) Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}

Kenroy Martin and Elvis Woods both hit 18, as Glen made 88 for 9 off their 20 overs. Renford Jack bagged 3 for 17.

Set 89 to win, RSVG Police reached 87 for 6, in their maximum 20 overs, to lose by one run. Renrick Cato led from in front with 29, Salvan Browne, 21. Martin had no mercy on his colleagues, taking 3 for 10.

Glen got the better of Karaoke Groovers by 14 runs on Saturday, to set up the meeting with Police. Glen made 76 for 8, with Martin topscoring with 20. Shandy Lavia took 2 for 12 and Marco Richards, 2 for 14. Karaoke Groovers were bowled out for 53. Roy Millington had 3 for 13 and Ricky King, 2 for 1.

RSVG Police had beaten D’ Veterans in the semi final, en route to the final.

Earlier on Sunday, D’ Veterans was bowled out for 76, to which RSVG Police responded with 78 for 5.

On Saturday, the lawmen, in a demanding weekend, had discharged of Irie Travel Johnnie Walker Flyers in the last of the quarter final matches.

Mc Neil Morgan topscored with 28, as Flyers reached 67 for 7. Jack, 3 for 3, and Kenneth John, 2 for 20, bowling for RSVG Police.

In reply, the law officers got to 68 for 7. Maxian Richardson, 36 not out. Morgan, 2 for 9, and Leslo Mc Kenzie, 2 for 19.

D’ Veterans took the third spot after Karaoke Groovers failed to show.
