Forty teams to compete in Domino competition
Domino enthusiasts will have the opportunity to show what they can do, with the staging of the National Hairoun Beer sprint independence competition due to begin this weekend.{{more}}
Forty teams are expected to compete at ten venues over the next two weeks, with the finals taking place on Independence Day, at Black Point in Georgetown on the windward coast.
Tournament organizer Dean Clouden said that the teams will be involved in first round action consisting of 15 games, with the winners playing 25 games to determine who would advance to the October 27th finals.
The winning team in each zone will receive seven cases of Hairoun Beer, with the runners up taking home three.
The grand finals winner will walk away with among things; trophies and drinks among other things.
The ten zones where preliminary competition will take place include Miss Green Shop in Sandy Bay, Flasherâs Bar in Georgetown, Barbersâ Pub in Colonarie, Red Manâs Bar in Carapan, Ramoâs Bar in Fountain, Huffleâs ranch in Brighton, Barkerâs Bar in Peniston, Clarence Frankâs Shop in Hopewell and Step upâs Bar in Barouallie.
Meanwhile, the National pairs competition is scheduled to take place on November 1st.
The event will see over 150 pairs competing in the one-day event, to be held at Pier One in Kingstown.
