New Karate Kid

Carol Williams is the newest Karate Kid on the block. She got the nod from Japanese Karate Instructor/ Examiner, Hiroyishi Okasi when she was graded for her Black Belt in November last year.{{more}}

Williams, a Guyanese national, is a Lawyer attached to the Min of Legal Affairs here in St Vincent and the Grenadines. She was examined or graded in the basic techniques, Kata or combined movements and kumite, which is free sparring, defend yourself and attack, real open combat. She excelled in all of the categories and was, therefore, awarded the First Degree Black Belt.

Searchlight wishes to congratulate Williams and hopes that her success serves an inspiration for our women who continue to be targeted victims of physical violence.
