Academy remains unbeaten

New cricket team Digicel Neil Williams Academy continued their unbeaten run in the Bottlers First Division of the national competition.{{more}}

In a match of the scholars, Devane Warner followed up on his century the previous weekend, and made 56. His sidekick Allandee Ballantyne hit 54 and Zane Edwards, 36, the Academy posted 206.

For the Clico A’Level College, Morrison Matthews took 7 for 45. The A’Level College could not cope with the bowling of Edwards who bagged 4 for 25, T’ Shaka Patterson, 2 for 18, so too did Ray Charles, as they stopped 127. Kenroy Lewis topscored with 44. But the fickle weather severely curtailed the fixture.

Likewise, the match up between Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors and Smashers suffered a similar fate.

Smashers totalled 216, of which Justin Lee made 55, Deptor Culzac stroked 40 and Kareem Trotman hit 31. Rodney Lawrence bagged 5 for 21. Lawrence topscored with 86, Desron Lavia made 80 and Hezron Yorke hit 66, as Unique Warriors posted 350 for 7 declared. Keswerth Lewis snared 3 for 88 and Konnard Adams, 2 for 67, for Smashers.

The other two matches in that division had no result. Edley Samuel struck 65 and Augustus Mofford, 43, as Belmont innings halted at 193. Former St. Vincent and the Grenadines middle order batsman Augustine Victory, back home on a short vacation, had figures of 6 for 55, bowling for Sion Hill. In reply, Sion Hill was 43 for 3, with Michael Jack getting all three wickets at the cost of eleven runs.

In the other abandoned match, Log Enterprises Masters with an innings high of 58 from Aaron Bascombe put his team to 195 versus CJ Construction ASCO. Vernando Primus had bowling figures of 4 for 44.

With only one ground available for the RBTT Premier Division, the one match per weekend continued at the Stubbs Playing Field.

Defending 20/20 champion Victors One earned first innings points over ECGC Radcliffe.

Victors One took first strike and made 127. Donson Andrews led the way with 33 and Donwell Hector made 31. Dyke Cato had figures of 4 for 61.

Radclifffe was skittled out for 68. Norlan Williams bagged 6 for 30, and Hank Hall supported with 2 for 36. Victors One, batting a second time reached 148 for 7 declared. Hector helped himself to 74. Hezron Lawrence finished with 4 for 38. (RT)
