LOC in event ready mode

With just under four weeks to go before Cricket World Cup warm up matches take place here, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) said that they are in an Event Ready Mode.

The committee made this announcement at their press conference last Thursday at the LOC office in Arnos Vale.

A number of new buildings at the Arnos Vale Playing Field have already been completed and are now being outfitted and furnished.{{more}}

These are the new players pavilion, media center, president’s suite and administration centre. While the P.H. Veira, Michael Findlay and Frank Thomas pavilions are being refurbished.

The new double-decker stand and bleachers which is now called the “party stand” are expected to be ready for the March 5th to 9th event.

The LOC said that ticket sales are into its final stage, and the committee is encouraging patrons to register for their tickets early to avoid delay. Tickets range from 10 to 40 US dollars and are available at the AVESCO building at the entrance to the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

Security, transportation and traffic are other aspects which the committee says are on course, as well as volunteering, health and beautification.

The committee said that a test run of all aspects is planned for February 15th to 17th, when this country hosts the finals of the KFC cricket cup. Australia, Bermuda, England and Zimbabwe are scheduled to play their warm up matches here.
