FIRST WIN FOR SVG

St. Vincent and the Grenadines moved into the quarterfinals of the Stanford 20/20 with a comfortable five wicket win over United States Virgin Islands last Tuesday.

The Vincentians cruised to 93 for 5 with five overs to spare. Man of the Match, Kenroy Martin 21 not out, with Kissinger McLean 17 carried the Vincentians to safety, from 69 for 5.{{more}}

Kenroy Martin 3 for 6 from his four overs, supported by Nixon McLean 3 for 15 combined to restrict the USVI to 92 dismissed in the 20th over. Martin joined the band of cricketers who would receive US$25,000. The series has aroused the region’s interest on the ground, over radio, and television.

The Vincentians play Grenada next Wednesday July 26. The final is carded for August 13.
