Overseas-based Gailene Gordon and Nicole Sandy will also be in the entourage. They will be supported by captain Dellarice Duncan, Annette King, Marcia Gordon, Michelle Wiseman, Genella Andrews, Saska Diamond, Anella Samuel, Leanna Lewis, Joanna Christopher and Jacintha Adams.

SVG is in Pool A, with New Zealand, Malawi, Fiji, South Africa, and England.

Twelve teams all together will vie for the championship.

Assistant Manager Sonja Lewis was cautious in her analysis of the team’s chances. She observed that the squad is “relatively young” and highlighted that the “exposure would be good.”

The Netball Association received assistance with uniforms. This was outlined by McIntosh and Lewis at the Nutrica Netball Centre last Tuesday. Two sets of outfits valued at $6,400 were acquired through the initiative of RBTT’s Garfield Williams. He approached several business houses to raise the amount. SVG play their first March 17. The final is set for March 26.

Following the Commonwealth sojourn, focus will be on the Caribbean Netball Association tournament, scheduled for July 9 to 16 in Barbados. That tournament will be used as a World Cup qualifier.
