Jamaica get better of Barbados

IT WAS a performance Barbados will quickly want to forget, indifferent, and lacking in purpose.

It might have had something to do with the fact that they were already assured of a place in the semifinals of the KFC Cup, but those beyond the boundary at the 3Ws Oval would not have been satisfied. {{more}}

Batting first yet again – five times in five matches – Barbados were restricted to 209 for eight, their lowest total, which was significantly boosted by an onslaught in the last 30 balls.

The Defeat still left Barbados second in the table on 12 points, the same as the Windwards, who they will meet in the semifinals today in Georgetown.

The signs were there from the very beginning of the Jamaican response.

Ian Bradshaw, below his best for most of the tournament, unusually lost his direction to the extent that he delivered four wides on the trot and nine all told.
