Jackson still hoping for pick on WI

Orlanzo Jackson, one of the region’s top spinners is keeping alive his dreams of making it to the West Indies cricket team.

The 31-year-old is not too worried that time might be running out on him. Taking a deep breath as he contemplated the issue, Jackson told SEARCHLIGHT that the dream of making it to the West Indies team is the reason cricketers in the Caribbean play cricket. {{more}}

He said while it is true that time is ebbing away from him as a spin bowler and a batsman, one has a greater chance to be called for selection in their early thirties than a batsmen. Furthermore Jackson said that a spin bowler peaks at about 30 or thereabouts.

The Chester Cottage resident who was called to the St.Vincent and the Grenadines team in 1998 later made it to the Windward Islands team in 2001. Meanwhile, Jack-son is now into his second season playing in the Durham Senior League in England for East Boldon. He has scored 527 and taken 52 wickets.
