CGM Novice looking for comeback

CGM Novice will be trying to redeem themselves this weekend when they meet Smirnoff Sugar Corner Giants from 3:15 pm on Saturday at the Dauphine Playing Field.

Novice, one of the titans in the National Lotteries Top Belair Softball cricket competition, were thrashed by RSVG Police three weeks ago.{{more}}

Sugar Corner Giants, like Novice, also lost on their last outing.

Also seeking a victory will be Kingstown Hill United when they meet Rivals from 9 am Sunday Morning.

Kingstown Hill United chalked up a convincing 67- run win over Kelbourney Bangers last weekend.

In 22.1 overs, Kingstown Hill posted 119, with Marlon Cambridge leading the way with 21, and Raymond Sayers bagging 4 for 17.

Bangers were routed for 52 in just 12 overs. Brenton Smith 4 for 14 and Ronald Medford 3 for 14, orchestrated the win for Kingstown Hill United.

It was a similar story when Computec Irie Travel Fair Hall Falcons faced Vincom Nex Level.

Falcons made 99, with their main batsman Alfred Mc Kenzie tallying 35. Nex Level reached 69 in 15 overs. Ricky King 4 for 13 and Troy Harry did the demolition job of Nex Level’s innings.

The relatively low scores were evident as Dr Thomas Injectors, who are finding the going tough, were dismissed for 67 in 21.3 overs. Amos Clarke was East Bank’s most successful bowler with 3 for 13. East Bank responded with 71 for 3.

In another affair, Gomea Bombers totaled 98 in 19.1 with Christian Da Silva making a game high of 22. Fenton Harry 3 for 20 and Godwin Cumberbatch 3 for 28, were the most successful bowlers for Gairy Construction Stingers.

Kendal Payne 4 for 11 and Sylvannus Morgan 3 for 10, combined to stall Stingers’ alliance at 54 in 13.5 overs.

But it was more competitive between Fountain Rangers and ASCO.

Rangers responding to ASCO’s 102 all in 19.3 overs, erased that total making 103 for 7 in 19.2.

The search for maximum points continues from 1:15 p.m. tomorrow with Sea Operations Nah Fren Dem meeting Vincom Nex Level.

On Sunday Nice Radio Pine Hill Dairy Clinchers go after Gomea Bombers from noon.
