Vinlec Shot Callers looking for more points

Several teams will try to consolidate their positions this weekend in the National Lotteries Top Belair softball cricket competition.

These teams will be seeking a place in the next round of sixteen.

Some advanced their cause last weekend by adding to their points tally.{{more}}

One such team was Vinlec Shot Callers. Candell Patterson hit 27, Shot Callers made 130. ASCO responded with 91 all out in 24.3 overs, undone by the bowling of Darren Henry 3 for 1,and Chris and Dell King 2 for 19 and 2 for 24 respectively.

Like Shot Callers, Nice Radio Pine Hill Dairy Clinchers gained maximum points. In 20 overs, Clinchers posted 153 for 8,led by Stephen Fisher’s 40 and Osneth Cato’s 36.

Joel Cottle bagged 2 for 2 ,and Seymour Laborde, 2 for 24, shared the bowling spotlight for Rivals.

It took the Clinchers’ bowlers a mere 10 overs to rout Rivals for a paltry 38.

Dill Clarke had a field day snaring 4 for 9, with Carlon John assisting with 2 for 3.

Similarly, New Track Guys comfortably took out Dr. Thomas’ Injectors. But New Track Guys, replying to the Injectors’ 70 reached 72 for 7.

Also putting themselves in good stead for a place in the second round were National Properties HMP Stars.

Batting first, Aunt Jobe Older Boys scored 149 for 8 from their allotment of 25 overs. Keyon Jack hit 32, with Tommy King filling in with 27 not out.

HMP Stars cruised to 152 for 3,led by Nicholson Millington’s 48 and Brian Hull’s 44 not out.

The consolidation process starts from 1:15 p.m. tomorrow at the Dauphine Playing Field when Gairy Construction Stingers meet Gomea Bombers.

From 3:15 also tomorrow, Vincom Nex Level face Computec Irie Travel Fair Hall Falcons.

On Sunday from 9:am, Dr. Thomas Injectors meet East Bank, followed by the Fountain Rangers ASCO encounter from noon.

The weekend’s action culminates with Kelbourney Bangers meeting Kingstown Hill United.
