Ian Allen to coach Windies A Team

Vincentian Ian Allen holds a Level 2 coaching certificate. He served recently as coach of the Windward Islands first class side and his display has earned him an elevation. He has been assigned Coach of the West Indies A team for their Sri Lanka. Allen, 39 played Two Tests for the West Indies on the 1991 tour of England.{{more}}

Daren Ganga will captain the ‘A’ team on its one-month Sri Lankan tour.

Jamaican Lyndel Wright is managing the squad.

He is a former wrist-spinning all-rounder who played in 24 first class matches for Jamaica in the early 1970s.

Thirteen players will be named for the senior team tour of Sri Lanka. The plan is to use the ‘A’ team personnel as back up in case replacements are needed.
