However, Shallow expressed disappointment for his final placing in the Shot Put. Shallow placed fifth, in his pet event. His performance this year has made amends for his poor showing last year.

Apart from Shallow’s two medals, Junior Ashton made sure that St.Vincent and the Grenadines was represented at the winners podium in the Males Senior 5000M. Ashton placed third, returning a time of 16 minutes 38 secs.

Shallow’s recent success at the Tobago showpiece for junior athletes in the region, followed his dominance at the field events at this country’s Inter Schools Athletics Meet.

Before leaving for Tobago last week Wednesday, Shallow struck gold in the Discus and Shot Putt, with throws of 51.49M and 16.94 M respectively, representing his school, the Emmanuel High Kingstown.

In 2003, Shallow broke long standing inter schools records in both events. He established new marks of 39.52M in the Senior Boys Discus and 14.15M in the Shot Putt. Shallow returned last year to break both records, adding 3.35 M on the Discus and upping the Shot Putt by 0.41M.
