36 Years in God’s Ministry – Church members urged to ‘answer the call’

5.MAY.06

“When called to be a pastor, don’t stoop to become a king” was the expression of Rev Dr. Isaac Soleyn as he joined the chorus of appreciation expressed to Rev. Errol Daniel and his wife Carmalie for their 36 years of ministry.

A packed church, beautiful hymns expressing the faithfulness of God, dances and music created an atmosphere fit for a king. The Streams of Power churches surprised the Daniels with a grand appreciation service last Sunday April 30, at the Sion Hill church. {{more}}

In a tribute read by Denise Pompey and written by Hermia Scott and Carleen Heather Marshall, Pastor Daniel was described as a man of many parts who has never been afraid of hard work, “mixing cement at a rapid pace that would put many laborers to shame.”

A woman of inner strength, Carmalie was compared to a lighthouse that “guides ships in from ruin”.

In his sermon, Alwin Joseph, a teacher at the St. Vincent Grammar School challenged the audience to seek to become vessels of honour fit for God’s glory. He gave credit to Rev. and Mrs. Daniel for leading him to the Lord and bringing him to the place where he is today in God.

In addition to the four churches that he leads, Rev. Daniel is also the founder of Praise FM the only totally Gospel radio station in the nation. He is also the host of the weekly television outreach program, Direction aired on SVG TV every Sunday at midday.

The Streams of Power church is currently constructing a massive, multi purpose church complex which is expected to be completed in 2007.
