Small start, far reach

Researched by Jerry George

A new sense of excitement and purpose has now infected the staff at Caribbean Fun Tours. They are thrilled as they experience the growth of their tour operation and respond like teenagers fresh in love for the first time.

‘The way we have grown is the most interesting aspect of our business,’ services coordinator Jo Elliot shares excitedly. ‘We started small and have reached far,’ she boasts.{{more}}

Although the services offered have increased, there has not been a similar increase in the staff. ‘The staff is still small,’ Elliot said, ‘but experienced and caring.’

Advertising is Paying Off

Advertising has been credited with the growth and advance being experienced in this aspect of Vincy Aviation Services.

This linked to the use of the Internet as a marketing medium through websites www.caribbeanfuntours.com or www.vincyaviation.com Caribbean Fun Tours are now getting business from as far away as Australia.

We advertise in Islands Magazine, National Geographic Travellers, Frommers Budget Travel and Caribbean Life out of New York among others.

Coretta Ollivierre who is the Hostess with whom clients have most contact said her most exciting moment to date with Caribbean Fun Tours came just a couple weeks ago when they hosted a group of Photo Journalists from various states across the U.S.

“They were signed up for six days of tours,” Coretta said. “They didn’t know what they were coming to and worse still the weather was miserable.”

In spite of these negatives, she said they took them around, exposing them to the lovely landscape and people of SVG and ‘we parted as great friends who I know will definitely be coming back to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.’

Many persons have dreams of an exotic wedding in an exotic location. St. Vincent and the Grenadines provides just such a setting and honey-mooners and weddings are a specific target of Fun Tours.

The staff can arrange everything from marriage license to the honeymoon suite.

The introduction of Caribbean Sun’s service to the island out of Puerto Rico has had an almost immediate impact on the number of arrivals and the business Fun Tours does.

Vincentians invited to share the fun

The biggest challenge facing Fun Tours is to get Vincentians to recognize the value of the service they offer and to begin to take advantage of it.

Having said that, they say they are thrilled with the recent response to packages crafted to expose persons to a shopping spree in Puerto Rico for Christmas.

For US$300 a couple can travel to Puerto Rico, stay for two nights with pick up to and from the airport all inclusive. ‘The packages are now really catching on,’ said services coordinator, Jo Elliot.

As Fun Tours look ahead, clients can anticipate an operation which has its eyes set on becoming a big player in the regional and international tour operations market.

To support this dream, they are currently in the process of training tour guides and drivers as they plan the introduction of a fleet of tour buses.

So if you are contemplating a Caribbean vacation, let Caribbean Fun Tours organize your flights, accommodation, airport transfers ensuring that someone meets and greets you at your destination; yes, it’s all inclusive.
