Bullet-riddled body of man found at ‘Dark Hole’

Members of the Major Crimes Unit are conducting investigations after the discovery of a dead man at Queen’s Drive.

At around 7:20 p.m. last week Thursday, July 16, Devron St John was found in an area popularly known as ‘Dark Hole’.{{more}}

The deceased was 26 years old and a resident of Ottley Hall.

St John had been known to the police. He, along with two other men, had been charged with the murder of Shawn Gordon of Rilland Hill on December 19, 2010. However, he was acquitted of that charge.

In November 2014, St John was found guilty of unlawfully and maliciously wounding his stepfather, who was shot in the left leg on April 13, 2014 during an altercation.

According to head of CID Superintendent Ruth Jacob, an autopsy performed yesterday revealed that St John died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

The deceased is survived by his mother Ruth St John, also of Ottley Hall. (JSV)
