Teenaged Bajan boy nabbed

Vincentian police were expected to hand over a teenaged boy to Barbadian authorities yesterday.

Sixteen-year-old Derry Bailey of Yearwood Road, St. James, Barbados, was apprehended by Vincentian police at Barrouallie on Wednesday afternoon, days after a pirogue boat was found at Barrouallie by local Coast Guard.{{more}}

Bailey, who is on bail for allegedly having sex with a minor in his homeland, said Wednesday afternoon that he met a Vincentian man in Barbados last week and the man asked him if he would like to travel to St. Vincent. He said the man told him they would have to steal a boat, so they did.

Bailey also said he and the man arrived here last week Thursday night and he was taken to one Felwit Martin, a 75-year-old man of Keartons. However, he never saw the man again.

Bailey is scheduled to reappear before a Barbadian court for his trial on the sex charge.
