Sunsail – The ideal creole lime spot

Imagine an afternoon at a sheltered beach, heady West Indian music blending with the sound of gentle waves lapping the shore, the pungent smell of creole cooking drifting in the cool Atlantic breeze, whetting your appetite.

“The food is delicious. A local fresh dish and local vegetables – it is very good,” said Jackie Novotak of Ohio, USA, as she enjoyed the local breadfruit and saltfish with her husband, Joseph, last Saturday.

The Novotaks are expected to end a ten-day visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines this week.

Asked their impression of this country, Jackie replied, “It’s our first visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. So far, it’s very, very beautiful. The people are very friendly.” She added that they were going to sail the entire Grenadines.

The Novotaks said the service at Sunsail was “very good” and “the people very friendly”.

Asked if they hoped to return to this country, Jackie Novotak said, “We don’t know yet. So far, we don’t see why not. We like to travel a lot.”

St. Lucian lawyer, Tamara Marks, wife of local lawyer Ronald Marks, has given the assurance that she would be returning to Sunsail for the Saturday lime. For her, “The service is excellent.

“Even if it was local food, it was exquisite. And the ambience was superb. Excellent Saturday afternoon lime.”

Tamara’s countryman, Amin Fled, who was visiting for the weekend, endorsed her sentiments.

Dr. Truchot, a French national who has resided here for the past 12 years, lauded Sunsail’s creole lime.

“I love the lime. I love the location. The lime is fantastic. The food is inspiring – inspiring soul food,” he said.

And here’s what a local couple, who did not wish to be identified, had to say:

“It’s very good – especially the goat water. You hardly find that quality elsewhere. It’s healthy. You don’t have this big set of starchy food. The fish broth is very good, too.”

The couple said it was their first lime at Sunsail. They said they read about it in the SEARCHLIGHT newspaper so they “came to try it.

“One of the things we need is a deck chair where we can stretch out. Perhaps if we have these types of chairs we might order a second.”
