A new chapter: Introducing The BiteSize Advice Series

A new chapter: Introducing The BiteSize Advice Series

Over the last few weeks, I have taken you into the trenches of real workplace dilemmas, moments that bruised egos, challenged character, and tested leadership in its raw form. But this week, I am stepping back from the boardroom table and pulling back the curtain on something

deeply personal, something I have poured my heart and years of professional experience into.

This Saturday marks the launch of The BiteSize Advice Series, a collection of nine compact, yet powerfully packed books designed to nourish the minds and stir the hearts of professionals who lead, serve, and show up for others every day.

This is not just another leadership collection. It is a movement. A mission. A mirror.

For years, I have observed a troubling thread weaving its way through the workplace. Despite our growing access to information, leadership remains an area many still struggle to embody with consistency, clarity, and compassion. I have sat across tables from professionals who were burning out, showing up, leading teams, but barely hanging on. And I have been there too. I have known what it feels like to be pushed but not powerless, to wrestle with doubt behind a composed exterior, to want to be better but not know where to begin.

That is why I wrote these books, not as an expert talking down, but as a fellow professional reaching across.

Each book in the series is tailored to speak into a specific leadership moment, challenge, or mindset. Here is what you can expect:

l Before You Say Yes is a boundary-setting guide for professionals who are overcommitted and under fulfilled.

l Pushed but Not Powerless is for those weathering the pressures of leadership without losing their center.

l Embracing the Shadows of Leadership is an honest reflection on ego, insecurity, and the inner work of leading well.

l Coaching for Success is equipping leaders to have meaningful, growth-centered conversations with their teams.

l The Politics of Influence is about demystifying power, influence, and navigating workplace dynamics with integrity.

l The Power of Engagement offers practical tools to activate and sustain meaningful connections within teams.

l The Leader’s Mirror guides leaders through self-assessment, feedback, and continuous development.

l Management Mayhem is for the brave professionals managing multiple hats, high-stakes environments, and messy realities.

l Gratitude Manual for a Healthier, Happier You steps away from the boardroom and looks inward. It is about wellness, perspective, and building a practice of gratitude that fuels personal and professional joy.

These are not academic texts weighed down by theory. They are real. They are written to be picked up in between meetings, before bed, or with your morning coffee. Because I believe that even five minutes a day can spark a shift.

I chose the word “BiteSize” intentionally. In a world where attention is fractured and our days are filled to the brim, we need wisdom we can digest in small, meaningful doses. Advice that feels like a conversation, not a lecture. Practical insight, not performative.

I hope that these books will become a companion to the seasoned leader who needs a reset, the emerging professional searching for footing, the manager ready to grow deeper, not just wider. I want them to stir something hopeful in the reader. A hunger to become better, not just for the sake of career progression, but for the people we lead, the culture we influence, and the legacy we leave behind.

And so, this Saturday, September 27, 2025, we officially launch the BiteSize Advice Series, and I want you there. It will be an online gathering of purpose-driven professionals who believe, like I do, that leadership is not just a skill, it is a calling. If you are interested in joining us, email me at kjames@karenhearttalk.com for the link.

As part of the celebration, Management Mayhem will be available for free download during the first 48 hours after the launch, a gift to those navigating complex realities with courage and care. Praised by book reviewer, Pollett Lavia, as “a clear, practical, honest and much-needed guide,” this book feels like a wise mentor pulling you aside to say: “Here’s what no one told you, but you need to hear.” There will be giveaways, reviews, special reflections, and yes, a few surprises too.

This series is more than a book launch; it is a leadership reboot. A chance to reset, realign, and rediscover the leader within.

So come. Bring your coffee, your questions, and your quiet longing to grow.
