BOSVG and BeFit team up for Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

In recognition of Global Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Ltd. (BOSVG), said it has partnered with BeFit Movement SVG to launch the inaugural “Together for a Cure” Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, a community-driven initiative aimed at raising awareness, encouraging early detection, and supporting individuals and families affected by breast cancer.

Scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, the event reflects BOSVG’s commitment to its corporate philosophy of ‘Doing More Together’ by bringing together businesses, community groups, healthcare professionals, survivors, thrivers, and supporters in a united stand against one of the most prevalent health challenges affecting women worldwide.

In a release, BOSVG notes that Breast cancer continues to touch the lives of many Vincentians, reminding us of the importance of education, early screening, timely intervention, and strong support systems.

“Through this partnership, BOSVG and BeFit Movement SVG hope to inspire open conversations, promote healthier lifestyles, and mobilize the community around a cause that impacts us all.”

The Bank said proceeds from the event will be donated to local breast cancer support organizations that provide vital assistance, guidance, and care to persons living with breast cancer and their families.

The event will commence at 3:00 p.m. with a Health Fair and Wellness Exhibition at the BOSVG Halifax Street building in Kingstown. Attendees will have the opportunity to access health screenings, wellness information, expert advice, and resources from a range of healthcare and wellness providers.

At 4:00 p.m., participants will embark on the awareness walk, travelling from the BOSVG Halifax Street building to Arnos Vale and returning to the starting point, covering approximately 6.8 kilometres (4.2 miles). Following the walk, participants will engage in a fitness session led by renowned fitness advocate and founder of BeFit Movement SVG, Lindon James, as a celebration of health, resilience, and community spirit.

BOSVG said the event is more than a fundraiser; it is a call to action for the nation to stand together in promoting awareness and supporting those
affected by breast cancer.

BOSVG and BeFit Movement SVG are encouraging individuals, families, corporate teams, schools, churches, community organizations, and other groups across St. Vincent and the Grenadines to participate.

Registration packages are available at $70 per person, with a discounted rate of $65 per person for groups of 10 or more. BOSVG is also encouraging organizations to support the initiative through corporate participation, employee engagement, sponsorship, and involvement in the accompanying Health Fair. “Together for a Cure” seeks to demonstrate the power of collective action while advancing a message that resonates far beyond October,the Bank states, noting that awareness saves lives, support makes a difference, and communities are strongest when they stand together.
