Vincentian Youth invited to be part of health self-advocacy project

THE REPRODUCTIVE Education and Adolescent Community Health (REACH) Project is invites Young People to an Orientation Session to Explore Youth Engagement Opportunities Young persons in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and the three other Windward Islands who are passionate about making a difference in their communities; strengthen their leadership skills, and help create healthier futures for themselves and other adolescents and young persons are invited to register and attend a virtual orientation session on Tuesday September 8, 2026.

The invitation has been issued by principals of The Reproductive Education and Adolescent Community Health (REACH) Project that is implemented in partnership with Alinea International, the Caribbean Technical Assistance and Education Centre for Health (C-TECH), and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission, with funding from Global Affairs Canada.

A release from REACH outlines that the orientation session organised by C-TECH will introduce participants to the REACH Project, its vision for meaningful youth engagement, and the exciting opportunities available for young people to contribute to improving adolescent and youth health across the Caribbean.

Young persons between the ages of 18 and 24 years who have an interest in leadership, communication, health, advocacy, human rights, or community engagement, and are willing to participate in training and selected REACH Project activities are encouraged to register.

They must be from the REACH Project Member States – Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and St.

Vincent and the Grenadines.

Following the orientation, selected participants may be invited to engage in one or more of the following areas, based on their interests, skills, and the needs of the project:

•Youth Preceptorship Training

•Youth Leadership Initiatives • Communication and Multimedia Awareness Initiatives The orientation is slated to take place on September 8,2026, and starts at 4:30 p.m AST.

The four-year project aims to empower adolescents with knowledge and confidence to advocate for their own health and well-being. It also seeks to strengthen the capacity of providers to deliver adolescent-friendly services, particularly in sexual and reproductive health.
