OSV Group donates sunglasses to Police Traffic Department
The Traffic Department of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) received a donation of sunglasses from the Optical Division of the OSV Group during a handover ceremony held on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
The donation was presented by manager of the Optical Division, Stephen Sutherland, in recognition of the dedicated work performed by traffic officers across St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the RSVGPF said in a release.
During his remarks, Sutherland thanked the officers for their unwavering commitment to keeping the nation’s roads safe and encouraged them to continue their excellent work. He also highlighted to them the importance of protecting their eyesight, noting that traffic officers spend long hours exposed to the sun.
Emphasizing the value of proper eye protection, Sutherland is said to have remarked, “Sunglasses are like sunscreen for your eyes”.
During the handover ceremony, Superintendent of Police Parnell Brown, the officer in charge of the Traffic Department, formally received the donation along with personnel attached to the traffic department. The RSVGPF has expressed its appreciation to the OSV Group and its Optical Division “for this thoughtful contribution which will assist in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of officers as they continue to serve the public”.
