One-act script writing programme to wrap up June 28
A ONE-ACT SCRIPT writing certificate programme organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Creative Industries will officially wrap up on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
The programme, which was conducted by the drama development unit, forms part of the Department of Culture’s six-point development initiative aimed at strengthening the cultural and creative industries, a release from the ministry states.
Conducted in a hybrid format, the 14-week programme saw 10 aspiring playwrights and creative practitioners successfully complete the course that was facilitated by Vincentian creative and accomplished scriptwriter, Nisha Hope.
The programme provided participants with the knowledge and skills required for script writing and development.
The closing ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Peace Memorial Hall from 6:00 p.m, and remarks are expected to be delivered by the newly appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry ofYouth,
Sports, Culture and Creative Industries, Romel Currency; Drama Officer, Sean Frederick; and programme facilitator, Nisha Hope.
The evening’s programme will also feature presentations from the top three participants.
The workshop targeted teachers, community members, and creatives with an interest in script writing and theatrical development.
Upon completion of the programme, the works produced by all participants will be compiled and presented to the National Archives and Documentation Centre for public access
