Uptown Rise no more but Uptown Party lives on
UPTOWN PARTY EVENTS has confirmed its formal separation from Rise Soca, and the dissolution of the event previously known as ‘Uptown Rise’, but has assured patrons that Uptown Party will “proceed as scheduled” on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at a press launch, an announcement revealed a collaboration between ‘Uptown Party’ and ‘Rise Vincy’, giving rise to ‘Uptown Rise’.
However, a June 15, 2026 release from Uptown Party Events, signed by CEO Hance John, said his entity “will continue to operate independently”.
“This decision has been made in the best interests of the Uptown Party brand, its patrons, sponsors, service providers, and stakeholders. Our commitment to professionalism and delivering exceptional entertainment remains stronger than ever,” the release stated.
The release also informed patrons what to expect and some of the artists who will be performing.
“Uptown Party will proceed as scheduled on July 1, 2026, featuring Voice, Mical Teja, Skinny Fabulous, Fireman, rising Gen Z talent, and a few surprises still to be revealed,” John said.
“Patrons can expect an electrifying atmosphere, premium production, unforgettable performances, and the signature energy that has made Uptown Party a staple of the Vincy Mas experience. As we enter this exciting new chapter, our focus remains on creating one of the most anticipated and memorable events of the carnival season,” the Hance John release said.
Also issuing a release to formally announce the dissolution of its partnership was Nouvelle Vie, who also said they will be having a show on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Independence Park; they also identified a list of performers.
“Nouvelle Vie will continue independently with the production and presentation of RISE Vincy Mas on Wednesday, taking place at Victoria [Independence] Park,” the release stated.
“RISE Vincy Mas Wednesday promises patrons an unforgettable event featuring exceptional production, vibrant energy, a variety of culinary offerings and an electric line up of live performances.
Confi rmed artists include Soca royalty Patrice Roberts and The A Team Band, Edwin Yearwood, Fireman, Bongo Prime, L Pank, Keith Currency, Shorn Beats, along with several surprise acts set to be announced in the coming days,” the Nouvelle Vie release also said.
Orlando Newton of Nouvelle Vie-Rise Soca, speaking at the press launch in May, explained how the collaboration with Hance John’s outfit came about.
“When we decided to put Rise Vincy on Wednesday, July 1st, upon announcing the show, we realised that the Uptown party was going to be on the same night, which is the Wednesday of carnival week.”
The ‘Uptown Party’ is usually held on the Wednesday of the National Carnival week.
The Nouvelle Vie release said that refunds are available for patrons who purchased tickets for the Uptown Rise event at their original point of sale for all physical ticket locations.
While “Patrons who purchased tickets for the previous event are advised that refunds are now available at their original point of sale for all physical ticket locations. Individuals who purchased tickets through Ticket Pal should submit refund requests with their ticket numbers via email.
